It is situated between the newly-redeveloped banks of IJ and the old heart of the city. The Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ will concentrate on the contemporary music. It has been designed by the Danish firm of architects, 3xNielsen. The building has two halls : a large concert hall seating 735 (standing room for 1,500) and a smaller hall seating over 100.
