Contrary to many port cities, the port of Naples has not been obliged to abandon spaces or to relocalise certain activities to adapt to the evolutions of maritime transport. The redefinition of the relations between the port and the city that is being engaged in today concerns a polyvalent port where all activities are still present. The current masterplan of the port has programmed a requalification by specific sectors that have to cohabit. The Cruise terminal and a redefinition of the commercial port at the two extremities of the port area, marinas and small tourist ports, provide the main orientations.
