Mark van der Horst, Vice Mayor of Amsterdam, is particularly pleased with this development, “What makes Amsterdam so very special is that it offers this golden tripod – a world-renowned metropolis, an intercontinental airport and a modern sea port. A unique city will now get a unique business park that will meet the very highest standards.”

> Ambitious project

In designing office parks, it is not unusual to place heavy demands on what the location should look like. However, this ambitious approach is seldom taken in developing a location meant for companies active in logistics and manufacturing. Clearly, BusinessPark Greenport is the exception to the rule. Cees Dam has developed a spatial plan and design to ensure that the various buildings, plots of land and public areas have a uniform, attractive look while still accommodating the individual wishes and requirements of the future occupants.

For the development of the location, Lisman and Strukton have created the Greenport Development Company, which is also the first investor in this business park. “The fact that private companies like Lisman and Strukton are prepared to stick out their neck shows that this site offers great potential,” says Mark van der Horst.

> Accessibility

The concept of BusinessPark Greenport fits in well with the development of the Port of Amsterdam into an international logistics hub – on the basis of its excellent accessibility by water, air, road and rail, as well as its favorable location in the center of large consumer markets. The new business park will cover 24 hectares (approx. 60 acres) and will be divided into 68 plots of 2,500-3,500 square meters (approx. 27,000-38,000 square feet)
