The development of the IACP network in South America
Author: AIVPOn sale date: Thursday, 23 March 2006Type of document: ReportLocation: America : Argentina : RosarioLanguage: English, French, SpanishOn the initiative of ENAPRO*, managers of the Port of Rosario, the big Argentinean port upstream on the Parana River from Buenos Aires, will be hosting from 25th to 27th April next an international seminar dedicated to the strategies of development for the city – port interface. IACP is actively supporting this event that will bring together numerous delegations from all the port cities of Latin America, whether IACP members or not. Exchanges of experience between European and South American port cities will be organised on this occasion.Bilbao, Leghorn (Livorno), and Marseilles, active members of IACP, will be presenting their projects and Olivier Lemaire, General Manager of the Association will take part in this event. Joan Alemany and Roberto Converti, members of the IACP Network of Experts and co-authors of the Guide that was the outcome of the work of the Urb AL/IACP programme on "Good practices for the restructuring of city – port interfaces", will also take part in the discussions. By supporting this action of ENAPRO, IACP intends to mobilise the South American ports more strongly towards the importance of a better city – port cooperation for the establishment of new urban and port dynamics. .
