The authorities of the autonomous Port of Liège have balanced the scales for the year 2005 after a recent press conference. The remarkable progress of various commodities and of containerisation (+277%) have brought new strength to the 'Liège Trilogiport' project. This will be developed within the framework of an E.I.G., in particular with the Port of Antwerp (see our item 1348). It aims at the creation of a multimodal logistical platform, presented as a "logistical village" and giving access to a market of 56 million people within a radius of 250 km, and more than 60% of Europe’s purchasing power within a radius of 500 km.
