The Sydney Port Authorities have had to integrate environmental and social dimensions in the elaboration of the project for a container terminal at Botany Bay. At the outcome of numerous studies a whole lot of technical measures are programmed, notably concerning the ecologically sensitive zone of the estuary, the structuring of spaces and landscape to advantage recreational use of the water, and plans for the management of the environment (noise, risks, traffic, hazardous goods).
