Dès 2007, le site de plus de 24 hectares va être progressivement transformé . Le programme prévoit des activités tertiaires et de loisirs en mettant particulièrement l'accent sur la qualité de vie.The joint development by British Waterways and Peel Holdings will transform the historical dockland by enhancing the existing water space, providing additional moorings and boating facilities, opportunities for visitors to get out on the water and include a new canal bridge. It will also provide waterside cafes, restaurants, shopping facilities and improved access for walkers, cyclists and the local community.
Incorporating the areas known as Baker's Quay, Llanthony Priory and Monk Meadow, in central Gloucester , one of the major benefits for the City will be the creation of 1,000 much needed new homes. Along with 2,000 new jobs to serve an expected three million visitors per year, Gloucester will have a "must visit” destination as a result of the planned developments.
