According to the company, this mode of transport could reduce air pollution by 15 to 20%. If the operation proves conclusive, about fifty trams could be in circulation by 2008 to connect with the distribution platforms in the suburbs, relayed by electric vehicles (E-cars) charged with taking the goods to their final destination in mini-containers.
