5 teams have been selected following the call for ideas launched in 2006 for Governors Island, a nearly 70 hectare island in the heart of the port of New York (see our article 1403). Their proposals will be submitted to the public until 2nd September next. Tourism based on the heritage of the place, public spaces, park and promenade –including one offering a direct view over the port of New York – cultural, congress and educational installations are in the programme.
