The Port of Hong Kong has gone from the World top ranking port in 2005 to the second place and then, this year, to the third place to the profit of Shanghai and is directly threatened by Shenzhen. The Vice President of the Reforms Commission (a State organisation) is demanding a new strategy on the regional scale : Hong Kong would focus their activities on logistics and the future container terminals would be concentrated on Guangdong. However, according to some people, more than a political decision, it is, in the end, the market that will really determine the future of the port.
