Following the inauguration last April of the new cultural installations in cells 13 and 14 of the submarine base of Saint-Nazaire, it is now cells 11 &12 that have just been allocated. In the spring of 2009 they will house, over 2200m² utilisable space, 6 bars and thematic restaurants thus confirming the transformation of the base into a living and open space; a very concrete opening also since a light well will be pierced through the 8 metres thick reinforced concrete roof. The opening of a commercial centre in 2008 and the achievement of a three star hotel and a mixed housing programme will redesign this new port district in the city centre where two thirds of the investments are coming from the private sector.
