1.65 billion Euros. This is the latest report on the wealth created in 2005 by the Port Autonome de Rouen and over 700 business firms and enterprises connected with its presence. The industrial port sector; in particular refinery, petroleum products and fertilisers, play a dominant role contributing nearly half the added value created. This detailed study was ordered from the Banque de France by the Port at end 2006. This recourse to the Banque de France (a first in France, but mirroring what the Belgian ports have been doing for a long time) enables the Rouen authorities to have a very detailed knowledge of all the regional economic tissue. The operation will be repeated.
