The Vietnamese authorities have decided to make Da Nang into a major industrial city on the East-West corridor by 2010. In the planned developments, maritime economy figures in a good place with notably the creation of new ports and adjoining industries. Dà Nang, which is already the third port of the country and which counts six industrial zones, is also attracting numerous foreign investment projects. Thus in 2006, 103 projects totalling 340 million dollars were welcomed.
