An international call for candidatures for the development of the Yujiapu district in Tianjin (China) has been launched with the support of the International Union of Architects. The district is situated in a bend of the Hai River and is thus bordered along three sides by water. A key point of this project will be the handling of the waterfront, on which notably are installed today industrial activities and warehousing sectors. The specifications include: the design of a master plan for a 3.44km² area and the development of a 500 000m² commercial and financial centre. Closing date for candidatures: 15 October 2007.
