Bjarke Ingels Group have been selected to build the Danish Maritime Museum in Elsinore. The project was greeted unanimously for its novel proposal to make use of a former dry-docks. This space will be conserved in a widely unroofed state and will provide access to halls for permanent and temporary exhibitions below ground level. Besides the flexibility of the proposed project, it also fits in with the initial constraints connected with the proximity to Elsinore Castle, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
