On Monday 4th October 2004, the ports of Riga and Le Havre signed an international cooperation agreement.

The agreement bears on the reciprocal exchange of information on statistics, infrastructure projects, and market studies aiming to promote traffic between the two ports. The fields of cooperation will also include studies linked with the development of short sea services, the promotion of business and commercial relationships between the firms of the two port communities.
