With over 20.8 million tonnes of goods in 2003, the Port Autonome de Liège asserts its n° 2 ranking amongst the European inland ports. On the occasion of the publication of the 2003 Yearbook, the President of the port, Willy Demeyer, announces a difficult year for 2005 because of the closure of the steelworks activities that will bear heavily on the traffic results. He also presents the future orientations with the installation of a logistics park and of a multi-modal platform.
