AIVP held the 6th EuroIndia Summit, on the theme “Greening Cities”, in Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh, India) on 21 and 22 October 2013. The EuroIndia Centre organises links between India’s federated states and cities, and European regions, cities and local organisations.
Between the 25th and 28th of June, Bogota (Colombia) played host to the Congress of the American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA)*, which brought together more than 350 participants from all over Latin America and the United States. Various AIVP members attended and a number of contacts were made with a view to expanding the AIVP network in the region.
The Colombian ports of Santa Marta, Barranquilla, Cartagena and Buenaventura will host the AAPA (American Association of Port Authorities) 2013 Latin American Congress of Ports in Bogota. The conference will address the integration of Latin American ports in the world in an era of free trade agreements and common markets.
Organised by Mercator Media, the first edition of GreenPort South Asia, in Bombay, brought together around one hundred delegates from India, South-East Asia and Europe. AIVP was an associate in the initiative. At the event, Greta Marini, responsible for studies in AIVP, has presented the concept of “Port Centres”, with particular emphasis on societal integration strategies for ports and the relationship with the citizens of port-cities.
PIANC (World Association for Waterborne Transport Infrastructure) has invited AIVP to join it in organising and leading a round table on the dynamics of port-cities at the 3rd Mediterranean Days on coastal areas and ports to be held in Marseille on 22, 23 and 24 May 2013.
The GreenPort conference in India (March 2013, 20-22),will focus on port-city integration and the accompanying environmental problems and technologies. AIVP will be a major partner in the event, delivering a (key note) speech on how port stakeholders are communicating their strategies for environmental and social responsibility.
9th Pan- African Port Conference

The stakes and challenges of the “State – City – Port Relationship” will be at the centre of the debates of the 2012 Pan-African ports Conference. The discussions will be based on testimonies of experiences in the various regions of Africa and elsewhere in the world. The event will bring together the leaders of port cities and infrastructures, representatives of the States and independent experts.
Saber Global consacre son prochain Forum Port-Ville à la modernisation des zones portuaires comme levier du développement durable. Quatre thèmes guideront les débats :les plans de modernisation et d’extension du port durable, l’importance des relations ville-port dans le contexte économique mondial, la planification des projets ville-port en Europe et en Amérique latine, les expériences et projets port-ville nationaux.
L’Institut Portuaire d’Enseignement et de Recherche au Havre(IPER) a organisé sa 25ème édition de formation supérieure à l’exploitation et à la gestion des ports sous l’égide de l’Organisation Maritime Internationale (OMI) les 11 et 12 octobre 2012.
A cette occasion, l’AIVP a été invitée à clôturer les cours en présentant à la vingtaine de cadres supérieurs présents une intervention axée sur les bonnes pratiques en termes de relation ville/port.
