GENES_Ghio_vignetteFrancesco Ghio was born in Livorno (Italy) on 9 November 1958.
After the degree in Law he worked in Milan at Italian Freight Forwarders Association (Fedespedi) as head of Research Department (International Transport).
Between 1989 and 1997 he held the position of secretary general of Livorno Shipping Agents Association (Asamar).
In 1997 he joined the Livorno Port Authority and he currently is Area Manager for Research, Promotion and Public Relations.
Member of Intermodal and Logistic Committee of ESPO (European Sea Ports Organisation)
Member of International Association of Maritime Economists (IAME) he acted as Livorno Port Authority alternate director (2000-2005) in the Board of Directors of the International Association of Ports and Harbours (IAPH) and member of IAPH Port Operations & Logistics Committee.
He worked together with the University of Pisa on the reports “European Corridors: their role in the development of the supply chain and the integration of ports in the enlarged EU” (2006) and “Short Sea Shipping between West and East Mediterranean” (2005).
