The Port Authority
New statute fot the Port of La Rochelle

Created in 1890, La Rochelle harbour has been a Port Authority since 01/01/06 and is now the 8th largest French sea Port Authority.

Assignments

The Port Authority's mission consists in conducting extension, improvement, renewal, operation, maintenance and police work, on the harbour and its annexes, as well as managing its land petimeter.

Nautical Access

  • Only deep water port on the Atlantic coast - 13,50 m draught,
  • Direct Access : 45 minutes of piloting,
  • Sea access sheltered by Ré and Oléron islands.
