The Port of Antwerp occupies an enviable spot in the Europe-Africa trade

The port relies on agricultural exports from Africa, like cocoa, to maintain this position. It also depends on its international subsidiary, and acts jointly with some of its big clients, like MSC and Sea Invest. After the Gulf of Guinea, the port would also like to establish a presence in East Africa, but Asian competition is much stronger in that area.
