Ports have an increasingly key role in the development of the circular economy

They can unite different initiatives, provide a focal point for flows of materials or energy, act as logistics centres of course, and also house industrial clusters. Examples are appearing in places such as the Netherlands, the Danube region or Scotland. When combined with large land reserves, as in Hull, the potential is considerable.
