Venice Port Authority invites other European port authorities to create a forum and find a new approach to sustainable cruises that it is compatible with port cities.

This initiative is a reaction to incidents occurred in the past month in Venice. The main issues to be discussed include the environemntal and economic impact of cruises, and the ever increasing size of the vessels. Mr. Musolino explains in the letter that coordinated action between ports is the only way to find a sustainable solution. The AIVP fully shares the concerns of President Pino Musolino and supports this initiative to which the AIVP proposes to closely associate the municipal authorities. In 2015 the AIVP Days in Málaga focused on megaships, including the cruise vessels. You can read the conclusions of the meeting here.
