The great interest among local schools around Valencia in showing their pupils how the port works has led to an increase in the number of visitor days to the port of 26% over the previous year. Many schools have included a visit in their annual calendar, or even their teaching programme, organising visits systematically every year.
These citizen conferences will be held once a month and will be open to the public. They will address a range of topics from the history and culture of the port to today’s challenges associated with city planning, strategic port planning and the environment. The meetings will also provide a forum in which students of the DIDA architecture laboratory of the University of Florence can present studies and research work.
