The Port Center Lillo (Antwerp) signed on March 2014 the Missions Charter of a Port Centre. At this occasion a Flemish version of the Charter has been published. Founder member of the Port Centre Network in 2011 together with the Genoa Port Center and AIVP, the Havencentrum Lillo has been developing since 1988 a program to facilitate the emergence of a port citizen culture. Hence, Lillo has been since the creation of the PCNetwork, an inspiring example for all Port Cities aiming at developing their Port Center.

The Missions Charter of a Port Centre was drafted with contributions from the members of the Port Centre Network. After accession of Le Havre in December 2013, signature by Antwerp will be followed by signature by Genoa Port Center during the AIVP Days that will be held in Genoa on 26-27 June 2014.

Meanwhile, some of the members of the PCN Group will meet at Ashdod (Israel) on 8 to 9 April 2014 to discover in situ the project and the work that the Port Authority has started with the city and other public bodies to bring the port closer to citizens. The Charter will be signed by the director of the Ashdod Port Centre, Rinat Cohen.

We invite members of the AIVP network who are interested in the Charter and who are working on a Port Centre project to contact us: Greta Marini gmarini@aivp.org
