2015 Espo Award (7th edition): five ports shortlisted
The 2015 ESPO Award on Societal Integration is devoted to initiatives developed by port authorities in conjunction with local schools and universities. The jury met on 8 September, and whittled the 22 candidate ports down to a final shortlist of five: Antwerp, Bremen/ Bremerhaven, Dublin, Guadeloupe and Valencia.
The winner of the award will be announced in Brussels on 10 November 2015.
Civil society, and in particular young people, has been a key priority for AIVP for some years. With the publication of the Port Center Missions Charter and the creation of the Port Center Network, www.portcenternetwork.org, our organisation devotes a substantial part of its monitoring work and exchanges to promoting greater awareness and understanding of ports and what they do. Three of the five port cities shortlisted for the 2015 ESPO Award 2015 are signatories to our charter: Antwerp (which signed up in March 2014), Dublin, (May 2015) and Guadeloupe (March 2015).
