AAPA/AIVP Partnership: Latin American Congress of Ports in Arica (Chile) – 30 November / 3 December 2015
In 2006, AIVP signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with AAPA, the American Association of Port Authorities. The two bodies work together on various topics, including the organisation of their respective events. Almost 400 delegates took part in this year’s Congress, and a number of contacts were made to encourage more Latin American ports to join AIVP. The issue of city-port relations was judged to be crucial to current moves aimed at developing ports in Latin America (cf. the Arica Declaration). New members are set to join in the coming months. AAPA’s next congress will take place in Merida (Mexico) from 29 November to 2 December 2016.
