Port of Oslo will develop a buffer zone in new district
In Oslo (Norway), Hav Eiendom has completed the initial stages of the zoning plan for the new district of Grønlikaia. To promote interdisciplinarity and increase the breadth of proposals, 16 teams were selected to work on five sub-areas of the new district, which will be opened in 2026. All of these sub-areas will be mixed-use spaces and aim to increase waterfront accessibility for the public with harbour promenades and public urban spaces. The fifth area will create a buffer zone between the city and the Port of Oslo’s operation in Sydhavna. It will include a recreational area and emphasis will be placed on nature restoration.
