We are delighted to welcome Johanne Martin and Avicenna Tanubatra for their final year internships.

Avicenna Tanubrata

As part of the final semester of his master’s program in Transformative Urban Studies at the Urban Studies and Alpine Geography Institute in Grenoble, Avicenna has joined the AIVP team for a six-month internship.

Originally from Bandung, Indonesia, Avicenna began his academic journey in Strasbourg, France, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in urban studies. He is now based in Le Havre, France and Leiden, The Netherlands.

During his internship, he will contribute to content writing and AIVP’s network development. He will also assist Noémi Mene with the Connected River European project.

In parallel with his internship, Avicenna is conducting research for his master’s thesis on “The Rhenish Port-City Interface and Its Regional Inland Waterways Connectivity.”

Johanne Martin

Originally from Lyon, France, and with a background in international relations, Johanne is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Urban Planning and Development at the Institute of Urban Planning in Marseille. She joined AIVP on March 31st for a four-month internship.

Her main mission is to support the promotion of innovative initiatives in port cities, with a particular focus on:

  • updating best practices related to the 2030 Agenda,
  • promoting the AIVP Antoine Rufenacht Award,
  • monitoring media coverage and European projects.

We are delighted to welcome Johanne and Avicenna, and to offer them the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the interactions between cities, ports, and rivers, in line with their academic background.
