What is the AIVP 2030 Agenda?<\/h3>\n

AIVP\u2019s 2030 Agenda is the world\u2019s first initiative to adapt the UN\u2019s 17 Sustainable Development Goals for the specific context of City Port relations. The document, produced jointly with AIVP members at the Quebec Conference in 2018, sets down 10 goals to be achieved by 2030. It was submitted to the UN in 2019 as the contribution of port cities to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, within the framework of the partnership initiated with this international institution.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n \n\tDiscover our commitments<\/a>\n\t\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n

The Agenda assists port city stakeholders to direct their actions and projects towards sustainable city-port relationships.<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n

As port cities are often in the front line, they suffer the most serious consequences of climate change (floods, hurricanes, etc.), but they are also in the best position to experiment innovative solutions on the following 10 goals:<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n

A word from the General Manager<\/h2>\n
The United Nations\u2019 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is the main tool to steer the world towards peace, prosperity and a positive relationship with the planet.<\/strong> The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are the core elements of this global governance initiative, to inspire, motivate and organize governments, corporations and individuals to engage in this major aim. Since these goals were presented in 2015, actors in all regions of the world have gradually declared their support for this initiative.<\/strong> Although we have known the consequences of climate change for years, the increasing state of emergency and dramatic consequences have become the strongest motivator to act before it is too late and actively seek for sustainable development.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t

It is clear that nice words are not enough, we need to establish coordinated action to make visible progress in all aspects of society.<\/strong> For that reason, AIVP decided in 2018 to start a clearer and stronger cooperation with the global governance agenda impelled by the United Nations. The AIVP Agenda 2030 translates the global governance SDGs into the context of port-cities, helping port and urban stakeholders to prepare projects and plans that contribute to sustainable development and port-city relationships<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In Riga we ratified the AIVP Agenda 2030,\u202fformalizing our commitment and reinforcing our collaboration with the UN and other international organizations. Port cities have historically been places prone to changes and adaptation, so let\u2019s push once again for more sustainable future.<\/p>\n
