Director of the Agenda 2030 by AIVP, Jos\u00e9 M P S\u00e1nchez, participated on the 1st<\/sup> of September in the debate entitled \u201cPensar uma cidade ferro-portu\u00e1ria \u2013 Thinking a port and railway city\u201d. This event was organized by the Maputo Port Development Company (Mozambique), member of the AIVP network along with the city, in cooperation with the National Railway Company (CMF – Caminhos de Ferro de Mo\u00e7ambique). The discussion, that counted with participants of several local architects, focused on proposals and ideas for the waterfront of Maputo and how to open the port to the city and the citizens. The AIVP provided key ideas learnt from other members of the network, such as the need to plan the transition of port areas and to balance the tourism investments with the ambitions of the local population. The port of Maputo is a key node for the national and regional logistic chain, for its hinterland connections for traffics such as mineral cargo, cars or grain. At the same time, the port has a strong urban presence and is developing important projects in human capital development and rehabilitation of industrial heritage. The AIVP will continue the debate on these topics at the forthcoming conference in Venice, from November 16-18.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
