Here are the organisation\u2019s vital statistics:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>6,000 direct and indirect jobs (source: 2016 study by INSEE)<\/li>\n<li>\u20ac410m invested in Normandy between 2007 and 2020<\/li>\n<li>100 hectares of land devoted to Renewable Marine Energy and two planned maintenance bases<\/li>\n<li>2 million cross-Channel passengers per year<\/li>\n<li>7 million tonnes of goods per year<\/li>\n<li>Nearly 60 cruise stopovers per year and over 150,000 cruise passengers<\/li>\n<li>3,200 marina berths, a dry port and 33,600 overnight stays<\/li>\n<li>one-third of Normandy\u2019s declared fishing tonnage<\/li>\n<li>Comprehensive ship repair services<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Ports de Normandie was created from an alliance between the Normandy Region, the <em>d\u00e9partements<\/em> of Calvados, Manche Seine Maritime, and the Conurbations of Caen la Mer, Le Cotentin and Dieppe Maritime, to promote growth in their local economies.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_23880\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-23880\" style=\"width: 250px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-23880 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.aivp.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/avuedoiseau-bd-250x188.jpg\" alt=\"Port of Caen-Ouistreham\" width=\"250\" height=\"188\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-23880\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>Port of Caen-Ouistreham \u00a9 A vue d&#8217;oiseau<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>Why did you decide to join AIVP?<\/h2>\n<p>Ports de Normandie joined AIVP to adopt the network\u2019s \u201cPort Center\u201d initiative at the ports that it owns, operates and develops &#8211; Cherbourg, Caen Ouistreham, and Dieppe &#8211; starting with a prototype at the Port of Dieppe, and supporting those local communities which are members of Ports de Normandie and are interested in the initiative.
