Gdansk: the Imperial Shipyards set to be refurbished by Henning Larsen Architects

With its strong heritage and identity, the site is important to local residents. Henning Larsen wants to turn it into a distinct district of the historic city centre in its own right, restoring waterfront access for locals and promoting cycling and walking, through redevelopment of the public spaces. Three new spaces are planned: The Plaza, located close to the building where the historic accords were signed in 1980, The Park, a green recreational space between the river and the city, and The Dock, which will include 3500 homes, an urban beach, and a marina.
