Following elections in December, the public officials responsible for Flemish ports have been replaced

The ports of Ostend, Ghent, Bruges, and Antwerp now have new presidents. Though the change of personnel has no impact on existing projects or the local economy, the new incumbents are heavily focused on marine environmental issues, the need for ports to be integrated into their local territories and communities, and also cooperation between ports themselves. A unified port operator responsible for both banks of the Escaut could soon be created.
