Valencia (Spain): rethinking public spaces for and with the citizen

Valencia Marina was recently the venue for Placemaking Week Europe 2019. This festival was inspired by the Project For Public Spaces movement which originated in the United States. The idea is to put the users of these public spaces back at the heart of reflection in order to co-construct with them attractive spaces where people can enjoy walking, meeting and relaxing. The success of the Marina and the way the population and visitors made it their own is a good example. And the “Marina de Valencia” has just  launched a competition for ideas to redefine, with the citizens, Tinglado 2 and public spaces. Closing date: 02 September
