Renewed efforts for climate and coastal resiliency and cleaner air in San Diego (USA).
The Board of Port Commissioners of the Port of San Diego has reinforced the commitment of the port with local initiatives that will have an impact in the lives of the citizens. The Port expressed it support to the County of San Diego’s Regional Carbon Sustainability Plan, a framework to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2035. In the same line of environmental efforts, the port signed an MoU with the San Diego Foundation to explore opportunities to support climate and coastal resiliency but also, environmental justice, and a thriving, sustainable waterfront. Further on, the port is advancing in the Maritime Clean Air Strategy (MCAS) to identify and prioritize projects to further reduce emissions and improve air quality on and around San Diego Bay.
