:Located on the St. Lawrence River, the Port of Trois-Rivières is open all year-round to Ocean-going vessels of all types. A successful port thanks in large to its position as an efficient intermodal center on the North American Continental Gateway, the Port of Trois-Rivières offers smooth connections between marine, rail and road networks to serve the world’s largest market. Every year, the Port of Trois-Rivie`res handles 55,000 trucks, 11,000 freight cars and over 250 merchant and cruise ships from around 100 ports in over 40 countries throughout the world. It handles over 4 million metric tons and generates close to 2,000 direct, indirect and induced jobs. One of 17 Canadian Port Authorities, the Port of Trois-Rivières has been in operation for 138 years and offers a broad range of facilities and services to the maritime industry. It plays an important role in regional, national and international economic development for major industrial sectors such as the aluminum, forestry and agri-food industries.
