:The Brussels Port Community, known as the CPB, is an association bringing together the enterprises and business associations situated in the canal zone (mainly in the port domain) as well as other bodies and institutions active in this area. Founded in 1957, CPB is at the service of its members. It acts as a privileged partner with the regional and federal public authorities or other bodies such as the Port of Brussels and BECI (Brussels Enterprises Commerce and Industry). CPB encourages the economic and industrial development of this zone placing to the fore its strategic location and its logistics possibilities with its waterway, its motorway network, its rail connection and its warehouses. It assures the promotion of this economic ensemble, a true "European logistics nodal point", both in Belgium and in foreign countries and, in a concomitant manner, CPB defends the economic and industrial activities of the zone and their upkeep. The CPB currently has some 150 members.
