:PNG Ports Corporation Limited (PNGPCL) manages a vital part of Papua New Guinea’s infrastructure which is its Ports. Its principle Ports, Port Moresby and Lae are the gateway to the world, hence plays a critical role in the commerce and economic development of this country. A further 13 regional ports are also owned and managed by PNGPCL. In recent years, PNGPCL has transformed itself from a government department to corporate organisation with a vision of being a leading trade facilitator, terminal operator, sea port developer and sea port administrator by providing internationally competitive gateway facilities and services through superior customer focus. PNGPCL has recently completed two modern port facility. One at Motukea, approximately 5 kilometre North East of the former main wharf in Port Moresby and Phase one of the Lae Tidal Basin in Lae.These developments will ensure necessary shore side infrastructure is in place under very strong concessions with the particular aim of an efficient and effective facilitator of trade from ship to shore and through the supply chain into Port Moresby and Lae and the country as a whole.
