The GreenPort conference in India will focus on port-city integration and the accompanying environmental problems and technologies.  AIVP will be a major partner in the event, delivering a (key note) speech on how port stakeholders are communicating their strategies for environmental and social responsibility. AIVP will also look at the use of social networks and other tools for educating and raising awareness among the wider public and younger audiences of port activities. These topical themes which are regularly discussed by members of AIVP’s network of port cities as part of the exchange of experiences programme, will be dealt with in detail during the conference which will bring together the key port stakeholders in South Asia.

Over the coming decades, India will witness one of the world’s highest growth rates.  Forecast growth for the 2012-2017 period is in the region of 9%. GreenPort South Asia will give AIVP members the opportunity to find out more about this emerging economy and the new perspectives it offers.
