The Singapore Maritime Gallery was officially opened the 12 of September by Mr Lui Tuck Yew, Minister for Transport. Housed on the second storey of Marina South Pier, this modern and interactive gallery was developed by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) at a cost of $5 million. Occupying a total floor space of approximately 1,000 square metres, the Gallery showcases the diversity and vibrancy of Singapore’s maritime industry. The Gallery was developed with the support and assistance of key partners from the maritime industry. The official opening was attended by more than 100 guests from the maritime community.

The Gallery is designed to give visitors a fun, interactive and educational experience. Visitors will get to walk through 10 zones covering a wide range of topics, such as the evolution of Singapore’s maritime industry, the importance of port and shipping in our everyday life and the different types of vessels that sail our seas. Visitors will also learn about how Singapore has established itself as a leading voice in the international maritime community, and know more about the dynamic maritime cluster in Singapore and the exciting career opportunities it offers.
