“Port visits, literature contest, photo competition, artistic expositions and special pedagogical workshops,” the program for the next European Maritime Day organized the 20th to the 23rd May by the Port Authority of Livorno in collaboration with the Region, the Province, the City and many other local organizations, will be very dense and diverse. During three days, citizens and all people interested will be able to discover the port. Schools will be invited to come to assist to a free guided tour and pupils having participated in the event “Tell us about your port”, will take part in the awarding ceremony organized at this occasion at the cruise terminal situated close to the old fortress. Since 2006, the Port of Livorno has developed a very interesting concept called “Porto Aperto”, a program that proposes during 6 months different activities to discover the port. The European Maritime Day, supported by the European Commission, is a particular occasion to give a final input and offer an international showcase for the agenda “Porto Aperto”.
