Espo Award 2013: the jury selects a shortlist of 5 ports
The theme of the 5th ESPO Award on Societal Integration of Ports this year is “Heritage”. The jury, which met in Brussels on 12 September, has pre-selected 5 ports. The winner will be announced on 6 November.
Port heritage offers a huge potential for explaining the port in the light of its history. But in addition to this aspect, recycling or finding innovative new uses for some heritage elements has proved to be a winning strategy for putting the existing port back into the heart of the city and the everyday life of the community. This dimension has always been in the sights of AIVP, which has a representative on the jury.
5 ports remain in the field for the final decision: Dover, Antwerp, Oslo, Cartagena and Livorno.
- Growing the AIVP network: Mariupol, a Ukrainian port city’s strategy
- The ports of the Seine Axis, HAROPA, listening to their territories with AIVP
- AIVP at the first Smart Port Day in Marseilles
- AIVP provides international expertise to Dublin Port for the new masterplan for Odlums Mill’s cultural quarter
