Located on the Atlantic Arc, connected with a high-speed rail link and with the largest European estuary, Bordeaux Metropole is the heart of the Nouvelle Aquitaine Region in the south west of France. Worldwide famous for its wine, it is also a territory of innovation and high-tech issues in aeronautics, digital and creative economy (French Tech label), health research and industrial ecosystem (Route des Lasers). Bordeaux Metropole is a Public Establishment for Intercommunity Cooperation (EPCI) created in 1968 and gathering 28 municipalities. Its competencies have been extended from water and drainage management, waste collect and treatment, mobility and transports policy up to economic development, sustainability, housing and urbanism. With 50% urban and 50% natural, Bordeaux Metropole territory is a European agglomeration where it is good to live and work.
