A breath of fresh air, and an enterprising spirit The maritime and coastal economy has seen the Saint-Nazaire region become one of the most attractive areas of western France. The country’s third largest industrial conurbation and the leading French Atlantic port, in addition to being France’s second biggest aerospace hub, Saint-Nazaire, is also a seaside city with 13 kilometres of waterfront, twenty beaches and a rich natural environment, just minutes from the city centre. The protected environment is fully integrated into the economic landscape of the region, including the Port and the shipbuilding industry, which produce the world’s biggest cruise liners, the aerospace and logistics sectors, and the emergence of offshore wind and marine generation industries, set to provide the energy of the future.
