Nantes Metropolis is a metropolis grouping 24 localities over a single complete uninterrupted territory. It constitutes with Saint-Nazaire the two hearts of the Estuary of the Loire. With 630,000 inhabitants, Nantes Metropolis constitutes the biggest urban centre of the West country of France. The Nantes agglomeration has been able to preserve an efficient industrial base (agro-foodstuffs, mechanics, electronics) whilst developing tertiary activities which today account for ¾ of the jobs (59% for services, 14% for commerce).
