Activities

The Thames is the largest open space running through the heart of London and a key transport artery, with passenger connections and access to major trade and freight terminals in Kent and Essex.  The Port of London Authority keeps navigational channels open across the tidal Thames, running 95 miles from west London to the sea, and as a Trust Port we aim to make the most of the river and improve it for future generations.  We work with stakeholders to increase the use of the Thames in a safe and sustainable way across our shared Thames Vision goals for Trade, Freight, Passenger Transport, Sport, Culture and Environmental sustainability.
