The Port Authority of Abidjan and the Autonomous District of Abidjan recently signed the Agenda 2030 by AIVP during the 20th AIVP World Conference Cities & Ports in New York. This initiative reflects a shared ambition: strengthening cooperation between the city and its port for harmonious and sustainable development.
The partnership aims to reconcile port modernization, urban planning, and residents’ quality of life by integrating innovation, logistical performance, and environmental sustainability. It is part of the ongoing efforts undertaken by the Port of Abidjan to adapt its infrastructures to international standards and meet the requirements of a rapidly growing port city.
Through the 2030 Agenda, the port and the city intend to launch coordinated projects related to urban planning, mobility, the local economy, and environmental protection, while strengthening joint governance and strategic planning.
This shared roadmap serves as a lever to enhance the attractiveness of the territory, improve the resilience of infrastructures, and establish Abidjan as a model of a sustainable and competitive port city in West Africa.
