Introduction
The second edition of the River Port Cities working group on the theme of “Cities, Ports and Rivers: Responding to global challenges with local solutions” highlighted the case of our member Port of Seville. As an inland seaport, the port has made a strong commitment in recent years to improving its relations with the city and its citizens. The Distrito Urbano Portuario in particular is an ambitious project, to which AIVP has contributed, designed to make the city-port interface more accessible, inclusive, sustainable and more.
Over the two days, participants was able to discover this inland port and its many initiatives through meetings with team members and site visits.
Indoor workshops allowed participants to discuss shared problems with their peers and contribute to solving them together. Among other topics, we discussed:
– Urban redevelopment in river areas.
– Water uses and activities. Shared uses and governance.
– Circular economy and environmental regeneration projects in city and river port environments.
This event is reserved for Working Group members.
