The port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has always been looked on a service station in the middle of the Atlantic where ships can take on fuel and water, thanks to its strategic position as a Logistical Platform linking America, Africa and Europe.
Today the port is characterised, among other things, by the specialised berthing points in each of its four docks, discharge and loading of containers and RO-RO cargo, hazardous goods berth and its anchorage. It has a link road of more than ten kilometres to the city and is also an important port of call for tourist cruise ships.
